Physiological amenorrhea
Physiological amenorrhea is normal. The maintenance of the normal menstrual cycle depends on the coordination of hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian function and the endometrial's periodic response to sex hormones. Problems in any of the above links may cause amenorrhea. The majority of amenorrhea patients do not have ovulation and cannot conceive. Except for physiological amenorrhea (found in prepubertal girls, postmenopausal women, and pregnant women), other amenorrhea are pathological.
