Abscess of tongue base
Tongue root abscess: In patients with acute tongue tonsillitis, the lymphoid tissues at the root of the tongue are granular, congested, and swollen, and are connected to the lower end of the tonsil. In severe cases, local ulcers and purulent secretions are attached, and tongue abscesses can occur.
