Mitral annulus calcification
Mitral annulus calcification (MAC) is a chronic fibrous, non-inflammatory, degenerative disease of the mitral valve fibrous support structure. It is more common in women and elderly patients over 70 years of age, and often results in a variety of Heart disease, such as mitral stenosis, mitral regurgitation, infective endocarditis, atrial fibrillation, and atrioventricular block, is a more common echocardiographic sign.
