Acute pain in the face, head, neck, and shoulders

Vivian neuralgia was first reported by Vail in 1932. It is believed to be related to sphenoid sinus infection caused by sphenopalatine nerve stimulation or inflammation, so sphenopalatine ganglion neuralgia is actually sphenopalatine neuralgia. It is more common in adults, especially women. It is a sudden onset of pain in the nose, face, eyes, ears, head, neck, and shoulders. It is an atypical lateral attack. It is mostly at night. It does not occur due to external stimuli. With paranasal sinus inflammation, there is no obstacle to superficial sensation.
