Sympathetic hyperactivity Sympathetic nerve excitability increases due to various causes, causing a series of syndromes exhibited by effector organs. Main manifestations include rapid heartbeat breathing, elevated blood pressure, elevated blood sugar, peripheral vasomotor disorders, hyperhidrosis, dilated pupils, widening of the fissures of the eyes, protruding eyes, dizziness, and burning neuralgia.
