Pulmonary consolidation
Consolidation of lung refers to a disease that causes accumulation of serous fluid, fibrin, and cellular components in the alveolar cavity for any reason, reducing the alveolar air content and densifying the lung texture. Lung volume generally does not change (does not shrink) and can increase slightly.
