Beaded ribs
Rickets is a common chronic nutritional deficiency in children, commonly known as chondropathy, which occurs in infants and young children under 2 years old. If not treated in time, bone symptoms will gradually develop. In children aged 4-6 months, the skull grows fast, and the skull softens due to less calcium deposits. It feels like pressing on a table tennis when pressed by hand. After 8-9 months, the head may have a square or saddle-shaped deformity, the bone seams are widened, the bone edges are soft, and the cardia is large, and it is not closed by 18 months. Teething is late and irregular. "Beaded ribs" (that is, swelling like beads at the junction of ribs and rib cartilage) and "chicken bracelets" have appeared one after the other, and may also be accompanied by eversion of the lower edge of ribs, and swelling of the wrist and ankle bones, shaped like hands and ankles. "X" and "O" legs appear after the meeting. In addition, the child has an enlarged abdomen, thinning and dry hair, and slow movements and mental development.
