Opened and cannot be closed
Patients with temporomandibular joint dislocation have abnormal mandibular movements and are open and cannot be closed. Temporomandibular joint dislocation occurs when the mandibular condyle moves beyond the normal limit and prolapses out of the articular fossa and cannot return to the position by itself. Clinically, it is mostly anterior dislocation, which can occur unilaterally or bilaterally.
