The disease has been detected in 28 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China, and the epidemic is more serious in Central South, Southwest, and East China. The onset season is mainly concentrated in the summer and autumn (June to October) rice harvesting period, which usually peaks from August to September, and the incidence of young and middle-aged farmers is relatively high. In regions with high temperature, sporadic cases can be seen throughout the year.
