Diphtheria pseudofilm formation
Pseudo-membrane formation is typical of diphtheria. Pseudomembrane is a membrane composed of necrotic white blood cells, bacteria, and other substances. It is often located in the tonsils and other parts near the throat. The fake film is thick and hard, and it is filthy gray. If the pseudomembrane is forcibly peeled off, the mucous membrane below it will bleed. The false membrane may narrow the airflow channel, or suddenly completely block the airflow channel, preventing the child from breathing, and an emergency situation occurs. However, some minor diphtheria may not produce false membranes.
