BPD
Biliary pancreatic bypass (BPD) involves removing the distal stomach and retaining the upper functioning stomach. The upper residual stomach is anastomosed to the end of the small intestine, and the bile pancreatic branches are anastomosed to the ileum at a distance of 50 cm from the ileocecal valve. To the ileum, reduce the mixing time of bile-pancreatic juice and food, thereby weakening digestion and absorption. Currently it is mainly used for weight loss treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes patients.
