The thrombus at the bifurcation of the abdominal aorta can be removed via the abdominal or femoral route. Either way may not be able to achieve satisfactory results alone, but often need to be used in combination, so you should prepare for both ways at the same time. The transabdominal route is generally used first; but for some patients with severe heart disease, the femoral artery can be removed first to remove the thrombus. If the thromboembolism cannot be lifted, the operation is performed by abdominal route.
