Transabdominal and perineal rectal anal canal radical resection

Transabdominal and perineal rectal anal canal radical resection is a commonly used surgery for rectal anal canal cancer. The range of resection is large, including all lymphoid tissues in the rectum and its inherent fascia, most of the sigmoid colon and its mesentery and lymphoid tissues, lymphoid tissues below the root of the aortic sub-mesenial blood vessels, pelvic floor peritoneum, rectal ligaments, anal The levator muscle, anal sphincter, lymphatic tissue in the sciatic-rectal space, anal canal, and skin around the anus (Figure 1). For rectal cancer with lymph node metastasis, it should be removed as completely as possible, that is, the levator anus muscle is cut off from the pelvic wall attachment, and the tissue in the sciatic rectal space is removed at the same time. In women, the uterus and vagina have been affected and should be removed at the same time.
