Colorectal cancer surgery
This operation, also known as anterior rectal resection, can be performed entirely in the abdominal cavity. Perineal surgery is omitted without compromising the function of the sphincter, and there are fewer complications of the genitourinary system. However, anastomosis is difficult to perform deep in the pelvic cavity. The rectum is not covered with serosa, and anastomotic leakage is easy to occur. If the lymph nodes in the pelvic cavity are metastasized, the resection may not be complete.
