Left lobectomy

Left hepatectomy is more commonly used, especially for liver cancer and intrahepatic stones in the left lobe. The resection margin is about 0.5cm to the left of the midhepatic fissure, so as not to damage the middle hepatic veins that return blood from the two hepatic lobes in the midhepatic fissure.
