Serum hepatitis B core antigen
Hepatitis B core antigen (HBcAg) is a single peptide with a molecular weight of 18848u. HBcAg occupies an important position in HBV infection. He can reflect the presence of Dane particles in the serum and the replication of HBV in the liver, and can cooperate with and complement other HBV serological markers. It is only because of its strong affinity that it can quickly bind to HBcAg in serum to form an immune complex, so it is difficult to measure free HBcAg in serum. ELISA and IRMA double antibody sandwich method are commonly used to detect HBcAg.
