Serum acid phosphatase isoenzyme
There are 20 isoenzymes of acid phosphatase (ACP). There are roughly two types of isoenzymes measured clinically. One is prostate acid phosphatase (PAP), which is the most active acid phosphatase isoenzyme in the body. One is non-prostate acid phosphatase. There are many methods to measure prostate acid phosphatase, including chemical method, radioimmunoassay method, immunoprecipitation method, convection immunoelectrophoresis and electrophoresis method, etc. Non-prostate acid phosphatase generally still uses chemical method.
