Serum chloride
Chloride (Cl), atomic weight is 35.5, chemical classification: inorganic ions. Chloride in the body is mainly derived from table salt. Chlorine is distributed inside and outside the cell, but the intracellular content is only half that outside the cell. Chloride is the main anion in the plasma. It regulates the body's acid-base balance, water-electrolyte balance, and Osmotic pressure plays an important role and is involved in the production of gastric acid in gastric juice. The chloride in plasma is mainly sodium chloride, while the chloride in red blood cells is mainly potassium chloride.
