Cold condensation test
Cold agglutininn (Ca), found by Peterson in 1943 from the serum of patients with primary atypical pneumonia, is an IgM antibody against red blood cell I antigen. It remains active at 56 ℃ for 30min. Under the low temperature of 0 ~ 5 ℃, any blood group of A, B, and O can agglutinate with its own red blood cells and O and homo blood cells. This is a non-specific binding. Used to diagnose pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae.
