Serum inorganic phosphorus
The human body contains 17mol (530g) of phosphorus, of which 87% is in bones, and the rest is in soft tissues and cells. Many important substances in the body, such as certain proteins, lipid compounds, nucleic acids, and coenzymes, contain phosphorus. Phosphate also plays an important role in acid-base balance. Phosphorus symbol: P; its atomic weight: 30.97. Phosphate form: H2PO4-, HPO42- its molecular weight: 96.98, 95.97, respectively.
