Erythrocyte adenylate kinase
Erythrocyte adenylate kinase is a transferase in the lysosome of red blood cells, which is mainly involved in nucleic acid and lipid metabolism. Measuring ADK is of great significance for revealing certain diseases in humans. For example, pyruvatekinase (PK) deficiency is an erythrocyte enzyme disease that occurs second only to G-6-PD deficiency. It has been confirmed that PK deficiency is caused by PK gene abnormality, mainly due to PK gene point mutation, and a small number of patients show deletion or insertion. ATP deficiency is a factor that causes hemolysis in PK deficiency. PK activity measurement is the main method to diagnose the disease. There is no specific treatment for this disease.
