Cerebrospinal fluid leucine-enkephalin

Cerebrospinal fluid leucine-enkephalin is widely present in the central nervous system. It has high activity in the anterior hypothalamus, caudate nucleus, and pallidum, and acts as a neurotransmitter or neuromodulator in the central nervous system. Inhibition of pain conduction is related to body temperature regulation, cardiovascular regulation, and release of endocrine hormones. Enkephalins include methionine-enkephalin and leucine-enkephalin.
