Serum type IV collagen

Collagen is a fibrous glycoprotein, which is a & alpha; -peptide chain network structure formed by triple-spiral bodies. Type IV collagen is an important component of the basement membrane. Liver disease develops with inflammation, fibrous tissue hyperplasia is active, a large amount of collagen is deposited during the generation, and various types of collagen are increased, but the most important one is the increase of type IV collagen that forms the basement membrane. At present, it is believed that the determination of type IV collagen can be used as a modern indicator for detecting liver fibrosis.
