Differential diagnosis
Differential diagnosis of histamine red:
1. Emotional flush: Some patients may face redness when they are shy, angry, nervous, praised or criticized.
2. Menopausal red: may have paroxysmal flush, short-lived, lasting 5 to 15 minutes. The earliest symptoms are warmth on the face, neck and chest, which in turn turns into flushing, especially when emotional or after a meal. May be associated with other symptoms of menopause.
3. Carcinoid redness: Because carcinoid tissue can produce media such as serotonin and kinin, it can often cause flushing on the face, neck, arms, trunk and calf skin. Emotional changes, overeating, drinking and diarrhea can often be induced. Long-term episodes can cause small blood vessels to dilate, local tissue thickening, and some persistent erythema or skin bruising, and even central necrosis and scar formation. This type can be associated with symptoms of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, heart and nervous system, and is called carcinoid syndrome in combination with skin symptoms.
4. Drinking redness: Some people can cause redness due to drinking. In addition to facial infrared, neck, chest, back and upper limbs can also be affected, sometimes with urticaria and itching.
