Severe head and neck pain
Introduction
Introduction Acute pain in the head and neck is one of the characteristics of tension headaches. Tension headache, also known as muscle contraction headache, is the most common type of headache. It is generally considered to have a higher prevalence than migraine, accounting for about half of all outpatient headaches. Mainly for the neck and head and face muscles, the head pressure and heavy feeling caused by the continuous contraction, and some patients complained that the head has a "tight" feeling. Tension headaches are thought to be associated with a peri-cranial muscle disorder or a mental headache. In the new classification, TTH is further subdivided into two subtypes based on the time of headache attack and cranial muscle disease: episodic tension-type (ETTH) and chronic tension-type (chronic tension-type, CTTH).

Tension headaches are thought to be associated with a peri-cranial muscle disorder or a mental headache. In the new classification, TTH is further subdivided into two subtypes based on the time of headache attack and periorbital muscle disease:
1. episode tension-type (ETTH)
(1) Paroxysmal headaches associated with craniocerebral muscle disorders.
(2) Paroxysmal tension headaches that are not associated with craniocerebral muscle disorders.
2. Chronic tension-type (CTTH)
(1) Chronic tension-type headache associated with craniocerebral muscle disorders.
(2) Chronic tension-type headaches that are not associated with craniocerebral muscle disorders.

The diagnosis of tension-type headache depends mainly on the patient's description of the location, nature and frequency of the headache. There were no abnormalities in general physical and neurological examinations. It is not difficult to confirm the diagnosis if the course of the disease has been more than 1 year and there is no abnormality in the brain CT or MRI. If the patient has a short course of headache, attention should be paid to the identification of various organic diseases in the brain.
Diagnosis
Differential diagnosis
Face, head, neck, shoulder and shoulder pain: vidian neuralgia was first reported by Vail in 1932. It is believed that pterygopalatine infection causes wing nerve stimulation or inflammation, so it is considered that pterygopalatine neuralgia is actually wing tube neuralgia. Adults, especially women, are more common. They are episodes of severe pain in the nose, face, eyes, ears, head, neck and shoulders. They are atypical side-sex episodes, which occur more often at night and do not occur due to external stimuli. With sinus inflammation, shallow feeling barrier-free.
Separation of head and neck: Head and neck separation is one of the clinical manifestations of a gallow fracture or a traumatic vertebral arch fracture. Clinical manifestations: mainly neck symptoms, there is a sense of separation of the head and neck, patients like to hold the head by hand; it should be noted that about 15% of cases can have spinal symptoms.
Limited head and neck activity: one of the symptoms of cervical spondylosis, head, neck, shoulders, back, arms sore, neck and neck stiffness, limited mobility.
