Pupil asymmetry

Introduction

Introduction The pupil diameter is generally 2 to 5 mm, with an average of 4 mm, a minimum of 0.5 mm and a maximum of 8 mm. Asymmetry of the pupil means that the pupils on both sides are not equal or asymmetrical. Can occur when a coma occurs or when eye habits are bad. When the two eyes of the person are looking at things, the left pupil and the right pupil reflect the abnormality, that is, the sizes of the two pupils are different, and the pupil deformation and the pupil asymmetry. Sometimes it is congenital, but when the volume of one of the pupils changes, it may indicate a problem with the nerves of the pupil or a brain tumor.

A physical examination can be diagnosed.

The size of the pupils is not equal to that the pupils on both sides are not equal and vary. The diameters of the pupils on both sides are not equal to 'pupils are not equal', except for a few cases which may be physiological variations or due to uneven illumination of both eyes, which are pathological.

Pupil deformation refers to abnormal morphology of the pupil, or abnormal response of the pupils on both sides. Normally round, both sides are equal, and the responses of the pupils on both sides are synchronized. It can be elliptical in glaucoma or intraocular tumors; the shape can be irregular when the iris is stuck.

Asymmetry of the pupil: coma or poor eye habit.
