Finger sprain

Introduction

Introduction After a sprained finger, the joint is locally swollen, the joint is limited, and the stretch is not straight or bent. The local swelling, pain, limited mobility, and skin color purple and blue are the main manifestations of the injury. When the wrist joint is passively stretched, the degree of flexion of the finger increases, and the degree of flexion of the finger is reduced when the wrist is palmar. The fingertips point to the nodule of the wrist and the thumb is slightly abducted to the volar side. These are symptoms caused by ligament injury.

Cause

Cause

Stab wounds such as nails, needles, bamboo tips, wood chips, small slides, etc. It is characterized by small imports and deep damage, which can damage deep tissues and can carry dirt into deep tissues, resulting in foreign bodies retention and tendon sheath or deep tissue infection. The mechanism of injury is strenuous exercise, such as college sports competitions, dance, acrobatics, etc., although ligament damage is likely to occur, and severe ligament rupture will occur. But even in daily life, accidents such as car accidents and falling from high altitudes can cause similar damage.

Bone palpation

Sprain of the finger joint, thickening of the joint, and painful bending, it is very likely that the ligament is injured. After the ligament is injured, the joint is easily unstable, the joint cartilage is abnormally rubbed, and eventually it may develop into traumatic arthritis. Stop the activity immediately after a sprained joint to prevent pain and swelling from getting worse. Fracture should be considered when the injury is severe. It is best to send it to the hospital or doctor for treatment to prevent the injury or cause bone deformity. The tape should be fixed with tape before handling.

Diagnosis

Differential diagnosis

Differential diagnosis should be performed with various finger injuries;

1. Finger injury: The finger is subjected to an external force to cause soft tissue injury.

2. Finger frostbite: It is the early symptoms of frostbite. The hands, feet and auricle are the distal part of the human blood circulation and are the predilection sites of frostbite. After the late autumn, the temperature suddenly decreased and the blood flow in the peripheral blood vessels became slow. When the temperature is lower than 10 degrees Celsius, the subcutaneous arterioles in the above-mentioned parts are contracted by cold, and the venous return is not smooth, thereby causing frostbite. Some patients also induce frostbite due to congenital variability of blood vessels and narrow blood vessels leading to poor blood flow.
