(1) Causes of the disease

The nipple epidermis is thin and tough, and there are many factors that cause cleft palate. Common causes of illness are:

1. The nipple is invaginated or too small, which makes it difficult for the baby to suck, and the nipple damage occurs when the breast is sucked too much.

2. The feeding is not correct, and the nipple and most of the areola are not delivered into the baby's mouth.

3. Excessive use of irritants such as soap or ethanol desiccant on the nipple.

4. Excessive secretion of milk, spillage erodes the nipple and surrounding skin, causing erosion or eczema.

5. The baby's oral motor function is dysfunctional or the mouth is inflamed. If the nipple is bitten during the lactation process, the nipple may be split.

In the early stage of the disease, when the baby contains sputum, there is a knife-like pain in the nipple, and then the nipple appears oozing, or a light yellow thin liquid seeps out, and the exudate is dried to form scars on the surface of the nipple. If you continue to suck the baby, there will be small cracks or ulcers on the surface of the nipple. At this time, the nipple is red and swollen, and there is severe pain during breastfeeding. The scar can also be soaked, rubbed off and peeled off, and the crack becomes larger.

Pre-mirror examination: In front of the mirror, the hands are hanging down to see if the appearance of the breast is normal, whether the nipple is sunken, whether the skin is wrinkled or swollen, and the nipple is secreted. Check your armpits for lymphadenopathy. Finally, raise your hands over your head and do it again and again.

Carefully observe whether the nipple shows signs of tissue cracking and whether it is accompanied by pain.
