skull defect repair

Skull defect repair is a common surgery in brain surgery for repairing skull defects such as brain trauma and craniotomy. Treatment of diseases: brain trauma, open brain trauma Indication Craniocerebral trauma and brain surgery to remove bone flaps, benign tumors or tumor-like resection, chronic osteomyelitis of the skull. Due to the shape change of the skull defect area, the scalp is affected by the atmospheric pressure, causing it to invade the brain tissue. Preoperative preparation All patients had no surgical contraindications, and all patients underwent head CT and frontal X-ray film examination. The digital forming group routinely performed thin-layer CT scanning with a layer thickness of 2 mm, and performed three-dimensional reconstruction of the frontal bone. Then, the two-dimensional titanium mesh was formed by a "titanium mesh digital forming machine" to produce a two-dimensional defect that is completely consistent with the patient's frontal bone defect. The personalized titanium mesh prosthesis is sterilized and spared; the three-dimensional easy-to-shape group selects a three-dimensional plastic titanium mesh that is more than 2 cm larger than the defect edge, and is pre-plasticized with a conventional mold and sterilized for use. Surgical procedure All patients underwent general anesthesia with tracheal intubation and were covered with a covering procedure. The three-dimensional easy-to-shape group is based on the size and shape of the patient's frontal bone defect, and the titanium mesh is cut and hand-shaped as far as possible to meet the requirements of the patient's defect site. The edge is smoothed and placed at the bone window, and fixed with a self-tapping titanium nail; Routine application of antibiotics to prevent infection, 1 to 2 days to remove the drainage tube, 10 to 12 days to remove the line.
