Jugular venous return test
The jugular vein reflow test is an auxiliary examination method for checking the normality of venous blood vessels. Right heart failure, pericardial effusion, constrictive pericarditis and other diseases, blood flow in the portal and body vein systems is blocked, and various organs in the abdominal cavity are blocked, especially the liver and spleen. When these organs are oppressed, the blood in the silt is forced to flow back, resulting in a further increase in the right atrial pressure, which makes the blood flow back of the superior vena cava obstructed, and the jugular vein filling is more obvious. Through this examination, the corresponding symptoms can be judged. Basic Information Specialist Category: Cardiovascular Examination Category: Other Examinations Applicable gender: whether men and women apply fasting: not fasting Analysis results: Below normal: Normal value: no Above normal: negative: Patients with normal vascular function were negative in this test. Positive: (1) The original jugular vein is not filled, and it is filled after pressing the liver. (2) The original jugular vein filling is not obvious after filling the liver. (3) After compression of the liver, the jugular vein beat point is significantly increased. Tips: Maintain a normal diet and sleep before check-up. Normal value Patients with normal vascular function were negative in this test. Clinical significance Abnormal result 1. Positive according to one of the following conditions (1) The original jugular vein is not filled, and it is filled after pressing the liver. (2) The original jugular vein filling is not obvious, and the filling after pressing the liver becomes obvious. (3) After compression of the liver, the jugular vein beat point is significantly increased. 2. None of the above performance is negative. People who need to be examined: clinically suspected diseases such as right heart dysfunction and pericardial disease. Positive results may be diseases: pericardial effusion, acute pericarditis, pericardial cysts Taboo before the test: maintain a normal diet and sleep. Requirements for inspection: 1. The force of pressing the liver should not be too large, especially if you can't start it. 2. Obese people may have false negatives (thick fat is thick, the jugular vein is not easy to observe). Inspection process The patient is supine or semi-recumbent and breathes smoothly. The palm is placed flat against the right rib to compress the liver or the upper right abdomen. The pressure is gradually increased from small to 30s-60s, and the jugular vein filling is observed while pressing. Not suitable for the crowd Inappropriate people: liver tumors, liver cysts. Adverse reactions and risks Nothing.
